Purple Chameleon Books
I’m really pleased to announce that I will be the subject of the next Photographer Academy TopTog Webinar; where I will be talking to Mark Cleghorn about Garden Macro Photography.
To say I’m excited, if not a little nervous, is an understatement!!
It all started in April 2013 with an unexpected visit to The Photographer Academy HQ with our good friend Sean McCormack. A discussion about my macro photography, a few cups of tea and some birthday cake later and we’re discussing the possibility of doing some filming for the website; it all felt very surreal.
I understand there was some discussion in the TPA offices as to who would do the filming based on me keeping pet Tarantula’s. Poor Sam drew the short straw and came to visit at the end of the summer and we spent the day filming in my little studio, commonly known to most people as a conservatory.
At first it was very nerve wrecking and I was very concious of the camera and talking at it and not to a person. But Sam was great; he soon put me at ease and made me feel quietly confident. It didn’t matter how many times I fluffed my words, although there is no set script we did discuss what I’m going to talk about, or how many times we had to redo something if I got in the way of the camera he carried on with the patience of a saint.
In total we have made 3 films to go on to The Photographer Academy website. The first film is going through the equipment I use in both Macro and Extreme Macro photography and discussing some of the props and tools that I utilize. The second film is a basic introduction to Macro Photography. The third film is all about Extreme Macro photography where I talk about taking images on a single plane lens and how to use stacking software to produce images.
It was a great experience and lots of fun. Looking forward to doing some more in the not too distant future.
First up is a webinar to introduce myself to the TPA collective followed by the release of the 3 films over the coming months. This will possibly be followed by more filming. Sam, it was a pleasure and can’t wait to do it again soon. Mark, thank you for such a great opportunity. Also a thank you to hubby for keeping us supplied with tea and bacon rolls.
To whet your appetites, please join me for a free Webinar on January 30 at 7pm (UK Time); it is scheduled to run for approximately 60 minutes.
